Barry S. Jones Retires From Fralinger Engineering After 45 Years

Charles M. Fralinger, President of Fralinger Engineering PA, announced today that Barry S. Jones, Director of Surveys and Principal of the Firm, has retired from Fralinger Engineering PA effective August 31, 2018. Guy DeFabrites, PLS and William Olbrich, PLS will serve in Barry’s position.

Jones has served in his current role since 1984 and prior to that served as a Survey Party Chief since joining the Firm in 1973. During Jones tenure as Director of Surveys he played a crucial role in helping the Firm expand the surveying services with high accuracy global positioning surveying and currently 3D Laser Scanning Surveying.

Jones was known throughout the state as an expert witness who served for several NJ Judges as an expert in boundary line disputes. Barry’s accomplishments include 2018 William T. Murry Lifetime Achievement Award, 2003 Surveyor of the year award by NJSPLS, two (2) Presidential Citations for outstanding contributions to NJSPLS and the Surveying Profession.

Fralinger, Jr., Founder and Chairmen of the of Board of Fralinger Engineering PA. “Barry started as a land surveying assistant and worked his way up in different phases of land surveying to be the Director of Surveys at the Firm. Whenever there was a question, boundary dispute, or when the State of NJ needed an expert in a boundary line dispute, Barry was the first to be called. I wish Barry a relaxing retirement. It is well deserved.”

Barry and his wife plan on relocating to South Carolina to be closer to Children and Grandchildren.
