
"Michael" as family, friends and co-workers knew him, was a resident of Upper Deerfield Township for the last 10 years, he had been
associated with his family's engineering firm, Fralinger Engineering, PA, in
Hopewell Township, since high school. Mr. Fralinger had been a N.J. Licensed
Professional Engineer for 25 years and a N.J. Licensed Professional Land
Surveyor for 18 years.
He was born at Fort Chafee, Ark., on Feb. 14, 1957, and was the son of Albert A.
Jr. and Caroline "CC" (nee Molony) Fralinger, of Stow Creek Township.
A resident of Upper Deerfield Township for the last 10 years, he was the husband
of Kimberly A. "Kim" (nee Spindler) Fralinger and they had been
married since 1982. Mr. Fralinger graduated from Woodland Country Day School and
graduated from St. Augustine Preparatory School, in 1975. He matriculated at
Merrimack College, in North Andover, Mass., and received his BS in Civil
Engineering in 1979. He was employed at the engineering firm during summers
while in high school and college and joined the firm full-time upon graduation.
He served as a design engineer and municipal engineer for several
municipalities. In 1984, he was named vice-president and since 2000 had been
President of Fralinger Engineering, PA. He held professional registrations with
the State of N.J., as an engineer, land surveyor, professional planner and
certified municipal engineer. In that capacity, he either currently or
previously represented, the City of Bridgeton, Hopewell, Lawrence, Deerfield,
Stow Creek, Greenwich, Downe and Fairfield Townships and Shiloh Borough, all in
Cumberland County; Estell Manor, Weymouth and Hamilton Townships, in Atlantic
County. In addition, he represented Upper Pittsgrove, Pittsgrove and Lower
Alloways Creek, in Salem County as well as Harrison, Elk, Franklin Townships and
the Borough of Pitman, in Gloucester County. He was also affiliated with the
National Society of Professional Planners, the N.J. Society of Certified
Municipal Engineers and the N.J. Society of Professional Land Surveyors
-Cumberland - Salem Surveyors Association. Mr. Fralinger also received
continuing education credits with the N.J. Society of Professional Land
Surveyors and also at Rutgers University, Cook College and with the N.J. Dept.
of Environmental Protection. Mr. Fralinger was a member of the St. Teresa of
Avila RC Church, in Bridgeton and served as a director for the Bridgeton Area
Chamber of Commerce. In 2000, he was admitted to the "Hermit Hall of Fame -
Cultural Division" for his contributions and involvement at St. Augustine
Preparatory School. Mike's children are J. Michael
Fralinger Jr. and his fiancé, Antoinette MacDonald, Amy M. Fralinger, Matthew
R. Fralinger, Lisa M. Fralinger, Christopher D. Fralinger and Robert A.
Fralinger.
He enjoyed vacationing with his family at the beach - especially Kiawah Island,
S.C. He also enjoyed golfing when time allowed, but was most supportive of his
family and their activities and athletic events. He was also a "Georgetown
Swim Club Parent."
