A BRIEF HISTORY OF FRALINGER ENGINEERING _PA

Fralinger Engineering _PA was founded in 1966 by Albert A. Fralinger, Jr. The fledgling firm operated, for a time, out of Mr. Fralinger's basement, using a station wagon as a field vehicle. As his experience broadened, so did the scope of his business and the number of clients served. The company soon outgrew the basement, moving into three small office buildings in the City of Bridgeton, Cumberland County.

In 1982, Mr. Fralinger relocated the firm to the Hopewell Municipal Building, also in Cumberland County, in order to centralize his rapidly expanding business. In 1974, it was incorporated as Albert A. Fralinger, Jr., PA. To serve neighboring Salem County more effectively, Fralinger purchased Skinner & Compton, Engineers and Land Surveyors, located in the City of Salem, in 1979, from Eugene T. Compton. Fralinger next acquired the Millville, NJ, firm of Barber and Corson in 1983.

In 1992, Fralinger commissioned the construction of its present corporate headquarters at 629 Shiloh Pike in Bridgeton, Hopewell Township. The firm undertook extensive expansion to and renovation of its headquarters in 2002 - indicative of the company's constant growth in the New Jersey-Pennsylvania-Delaware region. Today, a 16,000-sq. ft. corporate headquarters is staffed by surveyors, engineers, tax map specialists, geographic information specialists, wetlands, soils, and research specialists, as well as support personnel.

Fralinger Engineering operates the most advanced Trimble surveying equipment and a fleet of vans in support of its on-site operations. In addition to its Hopewell Township location, the company continues to maintain its Salem, NJ, office, with a full complement of land surveying and engineering professionals and support staff.

Restructured in 2000, the firm was renamed Fralinger Engineering _PA, as company leadership was passed to the next generation of Fralingers. J. Michael Fralinger, Sr. became President and Charles M. Fralinger, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

In September 2009, the firm was restructured, Charles M. Fralinger, is President and Chief Operating Officer. Carl R. Gaskill is Senior Vice President, and Stephen J. Nardelli is Vice President. Albert A, Fralinger, Jr. continues to play an active role in the company, serving as its Chairman of the Board. Third generation Michael J. Fralinger, Jr. has become involved in many aspects of the firm.
